We take every precaution to ensure your shrimp arrive healthy and active. However, live animal shipping carries inherent risks. If the unthinkable happens and your shrimp do not survive the journey, we have you covered.
How to Claim Your Guarantee:
- Receive the Package: You must accept delivery on the first attempt, or pick up the box within 2 hours if held for pickup at your local post office.
- Take Clear Photos: Within 2 hours of confirmed delivery, take 2–3 clear photos and a brief video of the deceased shrimp inside the unopened shipping bag next to the shipping label.
- Email Our Team: Send your photos and order number to theshrimplyshrimp@gmail.com with the subject line "DOA Claim - Order #".
- Resolution: Verified DOA claims receive store credit or replacement shrimp. Note: Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
📦 2. Shipping Schedule & Weather Safety
Live creatures shouldn't spend weekends sitting in dark, unconditioned shipping warehouses. To protect your livestock, we follow strict dispatch schedules and weather monitoring.
When We Ship
We dispatch live livestock orders exclusively on Mondays and Tuesdays (and Wednesdays for Express orders). Orders placed Thursday through Sunday ship the following Monday.
Weather Cutoffs & Holds
If temperatures anywhere along the transit route drop below 35°F (2°C) or exceed 90°F (32°C), we will hold shipment until weather stabilizes. Complimentary heat or ice packs are added automatically when needed!

Every shipment is packed using specialized aquarium livestock insulation designed to minimize shock and maintain water stability throughout transit.

Breathing Bags & Holding Mesh: We use breathable livestock bags that allow oxygen exchange, along with climbing mesh so shrimp can hold on and stay calm during transport.

📍 5. Delivery Restrictions & Drip Acclimation
Geographic Coverage
We currently ship livestock only within the Continental United States. Due to strict agricultural and state wildlife laws, we cannot ship live livestock to Hawaii, Alaska, US Territories, or internationally.
Post-Arrival Acclimation
Shrimp are sensitive to sudden changes in pH, GH, and TDS. You must drip acclimate your shrimp for 1.5 to 2 hours before releasing them into your tank.
